Dangerous Goods

Does your company transport packaged or bulk dangerous goods?

Allan Miller Transport Training is approved by Safework SA, in conjunction with Fire Training and Safety Services (RTO 6691), as providers for the Carriage of Dangerous Goods licensing course. We also offer a Dangerous Goods awareness course if a licence is not required.

Dangerous goods licensing

We offer the course required under the latest Transport of Dangerous Goods Code.

The course covers:

  • Hazards associated with dangerous goods and responsibilities when transporting them
  • Indentify and recognise dangerous properties of placarded loads
  • Procedures to be followed in the event of accident, spillage or fire
  • Recognise and select appropriate equipment including fire extinguishers and protective equipment/clothing
  • Gather information from and understand the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (7th edition)
  • Prescribed quantities of dangerous goods and requirements for vehicles to be placarded
  • Segregation requirements

Please note that the requirement for a renewal of a licence is to complete the full course (there is no longer a shorter refresher course).

On-site training is available to cater for company groups, or we run periodic courses for individuals at our office in Wingfield.
