MR Truck Licence Adelaide

Home MR Truck Licence Adelaide

Do you want to drive medium sized delivery trucks or charter buses?

Licence Information

You may drive any 2 axle rigid vehicle, including a truck or bus and may tow a trailer of no more than 9 tonnes GVM (and within GCM limits).

You can also drive a special purpose vehicle with a GVM of less than 15 tonnes (e.g. tractor or bob-tail prime mover).

You must have held a class C licence for at least 1 year, have no outstanding business with Transport SA (i.e. unpaid parking fines or speeding tickets) and have no medical conditions that would prevent the issue of commercial driver’s licence.

Recommended Number of Lessons
We recommend drivers upgrading to the MR licence receive at least 9-12 hours of instruction. Instruction is usually given in 3 hour time blocks to avoid driver fatigue. Required hours quoted are an average only – any additional hours required are discussed with individuals on a case by case basis.
