Course Content: This course covers the following units:

  • nrt_logo-copyTLIB2004 – Carry out Vehicle Inspection
  • TLIC3010 – Pilot & Escort oversized or over mass loads
  • TLIE3009 – Use Pilot & Escort communication
  • TLIF3013 – Coordinate breakdown and emergencies
  • TLIF3060 – Control traffic as Pilot Operator

Please Note: This course leads to an application for a Heavy Vehicle Pilot Driver Licence.  This licence will be valid for 3 years at which point you will be required to complete a refresher course.  Please refer to Western Australia Mainroads www.mainroads.wa.gov.au or call Heavy Vehicle Services on 138 486 for the guide for applicants for heavy vehicle pilot driver licence. All participants must have a current motor drivers licence (not provisional) a copy will be required to be taken and retained.

Please note, to apply for a Heavy vehicle pilot licence, Western Australia Mainroads require you to:

  • Hold a current non-probationary Motor Drivers licence;
  • Pass an Assessment of Fitness to Drive for Commercial Drivers examination, must not be older than 6 months prior to the date of application
  • Pass a Western Australian heavy vehicle pilot training course from a registered training provider (AMTT is a registered training provider)
  • Complete an application form and pay an administration fee of $205 (this is payable to Western Australia

Pilot Vehicle Refresher Training

Course Content: This course covers the following topics:

  • Stop bat
  • Communication
  • Bridge Supervisor
  • Western Australian Law
  • Western Australian Business Rules
  • Code of conduct

Please Note: This course leads to an application for renewal for a Heavy Vehicle Pilot Driver Licence.  Please refer to Western Australia Mainroads www.mainroads.wa.gov.au or call Heavy Vehicle Services on 138 486 for the guide for applicants for heavy vehicle pilot driver licence. All participants must have a current motor drivers licence (not provisional) a copy will be required to be taken and retained.

 

Please note, to apply to renew your Heavy vehicle pilot licence, Western Australia Mainroads require you to:

  • Provide evidence of at least 6 x escorted loads in the previous 3 years;
  • Hold a current Motor Drivers licence;
  • Pass an Assessment of Fitness to Drive for Commercial Drivers examination
  • Pass a Western Australian heavy vehicle pilot training refresher course from a registered training provider (AMTT is a registered training provider)
  • Complete an application form and pay an administration fee of $205 (this is payable to Western Australia Mainroads not to AMTT – this is for your information only)
